Ian Paul is a Milwaukee native and lifelong music enthusiast!  He believes that education of the arts is paramount working in tandem with the natural world to heal the soul and promote a positive change in the world.  A graduate of the Music Occupations program at Milwaukee Area Technical,  he is well versed in studio teaching and live performances.  His passion is music composition as well as fantasy writing and reading.  Ian currently performs solo and is a founding member of Milwaukee group “Gypsum Sunflower”.  He loves his roll in this wonderful ensemble as rhythm/lead fill guitarist, bassist and backing vocalist.

His philosophy is working on what a student is interested in musically to maintain a fun, a safe and positive environment, that can develop into a life long passion of learning!  Striving to gain life long skills as well as creating a well rounded musician.  Music theory fundamentals is one of the pillars to developing music proficiency.  Each student learns and excels at different aspects of music with no judgment given during this learning process.  Being patient and flexible with tailor made lessons for each student's need to achieve success, once a foundational understanding is built.  Creating a proper and well rounded practice regiment is key to a musicians growth.

 

Learning to develop your own language within music and find your voice, personality and style for your instrument is an amazing feeling he wishes to share with his students.  He believes in developing problem solving and critical thinking, improvisational skills, in an artistic setting is something he strive for in his students.  Being friendly, engaged and creating a place of trust are pinnacles to achieving success.  Learning is a life long journey, Ian is excited to help you on your path and looks forward to traveling this road with you!
